Leatherlips Yacht Club - Columbus, OH
September 15, 2007A small but lucky fleet experienced spectacular fall-like weather with moderate air. A cold front passage brought a northerly wind, ideal for the lake. Uncharacteristically from this direction, there were huge 60 deg shifts that cycled throughout the race. We welcomed a new fleet member sailing in his first Pigskin, Eric Drobney. The fleet has four new members this year and it was a disappointment that Jack Boyles, Jim Thomas, and Trish Cadwallader were unable to participate. We had hoped to score this group of first timers separately.
Dick and Mark had offered to crew for anyone who would come out and is not usually a participant. We couldn't get this plan to work out either, but since Dick and Mark had not planned to sail, first place was awarded to Jack Sanders.
A pulled pork dinner was served in commemoration of the Pigskin regatta as we watched the Buckeyes beat the Washington Huskies.Finishes were:
